Parish Maintenance Warden

Applications are invited for the post of Parish Maintenance Warden to carry out a range of tasks to keep the parish neat and tidy and to improve the environment within the Parish Council’s boundaries.

 

The successful candidate will play an integral role in serving the Parish of East Challow by carrying out a range of maintenance tasks keeping areas tidy and Parish Council owned assets in good repair.

Public Art is installed

The Public Art was installed on the 19th November 2025, with residents gathering to celebrate the installation on the 5th December.

The Public Art which takes the form of a village sign has been painted by a local artist with impressions of East Challow through the ages and carved in wood. It showcases the history and local character of East Challow, showing prominent historical buildings, the village green and water pump and the Wilts and Berks canal.

The village sign has been paid for with S106 funding administered by Vale of White Horse District Council from developer contributions.

St Nicholas School have been involved and are busy preparing a time capsule that will be buried in 2026 at the foot of the sign.

The Public Art will be a unique local landmark in East Challow for future generations.
